AbstractIt is hoped we have conveyed for the American psychiatrist a brief glimpse into some of the developments and practice of modern Chinese psychiatry. Today the dominant theoretical and practical orientation to psychiatry in the People's Republic of China is descriptive and biologic. Chinese psychiatry in the People's Republic of China has a wide range of interests and continues to be influenced by the psychiatric schools of Germany, Russia, Britain, and America, however, with her own special way of development.
