Highlights•Poultry, swine, cattle, brewery, dairy and urban WWs could be microalga-based treated.•Removal efficiency ranges were 95–100% for N, 63–99% for P and 48–70% for COD.•Higher biohydrogen production yield was obtained using poultry and swine wastewaters.
