Review articleOpen access

Highlights•Compound naphthoquine phosphate (CO-ArNp) was assessed on Schistosoma mansoni and its snail host.•CO-ArNp at 40 or 20 μg/ml for 48 or 72 h, respectively, caused 100% mortality of S. mansoni worms.•The molluscicidal LC50 (16.8 μg/ml) of CO-ArNp killed S. mansoni free larval stages within 15-90 min.•Incubation of adult B. alexandrina with CO-ArNp killed all snails at 40 μg/ml within 24 h.•CO-ArNp has schistosomicidal, miracidicidal, cercaricidal and molluscicidal effects.
