AbstractThe aim of this short overview paper is to outline some major trends in the recent developments of XAFS instrumentation. Efforts to push back the present limitations of standard XAFS experiments are only briefly evoked whereas the paper is mostly concerned with new, exciting experiments that are now becoming possible, i.e. spin-dependent or time-dependent XAFS experiments, site selective optical detection, detection of X-ray Raman Fine Structures and imaging techniques...
