Some hydroxy-cinnamic acids of the carrot root

AbstractThree hydroxy-cinnamic acids, namely, para-coumaric, ferulic and caffeic acids, have been isolated from carrot root tissues, and identified by thin-layer and gas chromatographies. Their occurrence in the stored carrots is an indication that lignification is an internally regulated process.
