Abstract:
AbstractThe narrow photoconductivity (PC) peak observed as the main feature of the PC spectrum in many Cd1−xMnxTe and CdTe crystals is ascribed to the transitions between ionized shallow hydrogen-like acceptors and the conduction band. The shape and the position of this large extrinsic PC peak is determined by a steep Urbach's edge of the intrinsic absorption which plays a parasitic role.
