AbstractThe critical flow rate of superfluid helium through jeweller's rouge and vycor glass is measured as a function of the temperature. The flow rate is found to be practically independent of the applied pressure head and proportional to the superfluid density, indicating that the velocity is temperature independent in the temperature region lower than 50 mdeg below the lambda temperature.
