AbstractA wave-train of finite length emitted by a ruby laser, produces standing wave systems in a Fabry-Pérot cavity. The Fourier transform of its modulation function yields an approach to the shape of the spectral distribution. Results are given for various energies of the optical pump, from the threshold, showing the evolution of the spectrum.
