Abstract:
SummaryIn evaluating the results of surgery on cleft lip and palate, the growth determinants have to be taken into consideration. The goal should be that the dentoalveolar conditions coincide with the growth tendencies at the base of the skull upon termination of growth. If there is a tendency at the cranial base to class III, most likely it will not be possible to achieve a dentoalveolar angle class I without osteotomies.
