Highlights•The delay-dependent asymptotic stability for neural networks with interval time-varying delay is discussed based on delay partitioning approach.•The delay interval is partitioned into N equidistant subintervals and slightly different Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals for each subinterval are constructed.•By employing reciprocally convex approach, some less conservative delay- dependent stability criteria are presented in terms of LMI.
