Highlights•We investigated appropriate parameters for multiscale entropy in EEG signals.•Abnormal EEG complexity was found in patients with Alzheimer’s diseases.•EEG complexity was correlated to cognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms.•EEG complexity was correlated to changes in beta and theta EEG power.
