Extended flow characteristics of the embedded-electrode spray-charging nozzle

AbstractMeasurements were made of the charge level attained by the spray produced with an induction charging, pneumatic atomizing nozzle at liquid flow rates relevant to cereal spraying from a tractor-mounted machine. It was shown that the spray charge level depended upon liquid flow rate, atomizing air pressure, the potential applied to the induction electrode, and the diameter meter of the liquid jet. The electrical and pneumatic power requirements of the nozzle were also measured.
