Abstract:

Highlights•Novel BiOCl was bio-fabricated using different plant extracts.•BiOCl-N, A & T possessed enhanced features such as narrower band gap, higher specific surface area and porosity.•The separation of electron-hole pair was significantly enhanced in BiOCl-N, A & T.•Higher mineralization were obtained using bio-fabricated BiOCl.
