Abstract:

Highlights•GAPDH expression and sub-cellular localization changes through gestation in trophoblast of the mouse placenta.•Expression in trophoblast is dependent on state of differentiation and the terminally differentiated trophoblast subtype.•Our findings raise the possibility that GAPDH has multiple functions in trophoblast cells.•Our findings caution against its use as an endogenous reference or standard for gene expression in the placenta.
