Characterization of the permeability increase induced by the incorporation of glycophorin in phosphatidylcholine vesicles: Determination of the pore size

AbstractGlycophorin incorporation into large unilamellar dioleoylphosphatidylcholine vesicles results in a greatly increased bilayer permeability for non-electrolytes of Mr-values up to 900. This suggests that glycophorin aggregates induce the formation of pores with a 15–18 Å diameter.
