Abstract:

Highlights•Equilibrium shapes of interfaces in aggregates with open porosity are modeled.•The approach allows apprehending the phenomena underlying sintering kinetics.•The fraction of porosity containing both vapor liquid can be estimated.•Sintering pressure depends on grain size, density, coordination, and dihedral angle.•The same approach gives insight into osmotic pressure in foams and emulsions.
