Abstract:

Highlights•A new euphyllophyte is described from a Devonian locality of Xinjiang, China.•The plant is probably rhizomatous and bears planar lateral branching systems.•The ultimate segments of the vegetative lateral systems look slightly webbed.•Fertile lateral branching systems end in Psilophyton-like pairs of sporangia.•The implications of the plant in the evolution of multiveined leaf are discussed.
