Abstract:
AbstractThe ageing of onion seeds for one year more than doubled the frequency of spontaneous chromosome aberrations in the first divisions of the root tip cells. The older seeds also showed about 50 per cent greater sensitivity to gamma radiation as measured by the increased frequency of induced chromosome aberrations.
